Pre-school children's health is a prioritized research area in Sweden. Uppsala University has therefore conducted a study that examines the health and well-being of children and parents, and if it can be improved by parental support delivered through the Municipality or the Child Health Services. The study was called "Focus children and parents" - a study of 3-5 year olds in Uppsala County.

The summer of 2008 the Swedish National Institute of Public Health allocated 50 million SKr to six municipalities to enable them to strengthen and develop health promotion for children and adolescents in collaboration with a university. One of those municipalities was Uppsala municipality, which together with Uppsala County was granted funds for a 3-year project.
New Models for New Parents was a collaborative project with three municipalities: Östersund, Strömsund, and Mora. In the project, we studied factors that affected parents’ participation in parenting programs.
The current Covid-19 pandemic has a big impact on the whole world, also on migrants and refugees. Although they are possibly a vulnerable group, there is very little information on how Covid-19 is changing the lives of refugees and migrants.
